2022·5·18 黑山公园千人野餐烧烤

接连5周的周末都是阴雨连绵。5月18日，豁然迎来天光放晴！莫不是天公都在期待一个欢乐开心的烧烤野餐会？
的确，5月的晚春，黑山公园已经是林木丰茂、绿草如茵，微风拂过，塞内卡小溪波光粼粼，优雅而妩媚。大华府地区中国大专院校校友会联合会（大专联）一年一度的千人黑山野餐烧烤终于在5周的阴霾之后，在这样一个明朗的日子，如期举行！
从1993年以来，大专联“黑山公园野餐联谊聚会”已经连续举办了26年， 是华府地区历史悠久的大型华人社区活动，这个活动的初衷就是为校友们提供会见老朋友，结识新朋友，促进交流，增进情谊的机会。

华府青年CYOC支援医护活动通稿
随着COVID-19 在全球的迅速传播，至今为止，美国的感染病例数量已然跃升世界第一。全美各地疫情告急，纷纷进入紧急状态，而医院则成为这场与病毒对抗战役的前线。冒着感染的风险，面对生死的考验，医护人员正在奋勇抗战。然而令人担忧的是，他们却缺乏基本的防护。不要说N95口罩，就连医用口罩和手套在许多医院都成为了稀缺品，不少医护人员甚至不得不用垃圾袋自制防护服战斗在自己的岗位。面对此情此景，北美华人社团纷纷伸出援手，支援一线医护人员。而其中还有这么一群来自大华府地区的华二代孩子们，他们继早前发起活动为中国的募捐之后，此时又马不停蹄地组织起对美国当地医护人员的支援活动，用孩子们独特的方式支援抗疫！

A few days before the Chinese Spring Festival, a holiday signifying family reunion, junior Baichuan Wang’s father was planning to fly back to the United States after a business trip to China. But he soon learned that he would have to extend his stay abroad — flights from China to the U.S. were either delayed or canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Finally, after waiting for four days, Wang’s father was able to fly back to the U.S.
“He came back from Beijing on the last plane that was allowed to fly,” Wang said. “He’s back in the United States now, but he had to be isolated. We weren’t able to see him for 14 days.”

CYOC Serve Our Community Since 2018
The Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC) is a volunteer organization led and managed by senior young students, consisting of more than three hundred active members from the regions of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. Since its establishment in 2018, CYOC has successfully organized several fundraise activities to support USA and China hospitals in their battle against the pandemic, provide aid to Ukrainian musicians impacted by war, and help refugees upon their arrival in our county. As one of the most active youth volunteer organizations in the area, CYOC was honored to be invited to participate the Independent day parade for 3 concessive years (2019, 2022 and 2023) in Washington DC.
CYOC also offers a diverse range of volunteer activities with a focus on education, sports, arts, and various community service projects. The organization warmly welcomes young individuals from all backgrounds to join our mission of serving the community, recognizing the strength that lies in our collective efforts. Together, we can make a positive impact and create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
