The Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC) is a youth-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering leadership, community service, and cultural engagement among young people in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Founded with the belief that youth have the passion and power to make meaningful change, CYOC provides a platform for students to initiate projects, develop skills, and serve the community with purpose and confidence.
Our Mission
CYOC’s mission is to empower youth to lead, build stronger communities, and cultivate a lifelong commitment to service. We create opportunities for young people to explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and make a tangible impact through hands-on initiatives.
What We Do
CYOC supports a wide range of youth-driven projects and programs, including:
Community Service
- Organizing donation drives for clothing, food, and school supplies
- Supporting elderly communities through visits, tech help, and wellness activities
- Hosting service-learning events that encourage collaboration and volunteerism
STEM & Education
- Building and mentoring robotics teams for kids
- Organizing academic workshops, NASA challenge teams, and youth innovation activities
- Providing mentoring opportunities for younger students
Arts, Culture & Public Engagement
- Performing at major community events, including AAPI Heritage Month, the Washington Chinese Culture Festival, and local celebrations
- CYOC Choir performances at prominent events, including Maryland’s Governor Inauguration
- Supporting cultural exchange and fostering community unity
Youth Leadership Development
- Independent youth-led committees designing and executing their own projects
- Training opportunities in project management, collaboration, and communication
- Opportunities to work with local organizations, officials, and community partners
Our Impact
