Enthusiasm is building in the Frederick County area as CYOC is preparing to open a brand-new chapter in our local community. On the 7th of December, I attended a Zoom meeting with several other students, parents, and leaders to discuss this exciting opportunity.

During the meeting, we talked about how students could lead their own community service projects to discover their own passion. This is an essential part of CYOC’s mission, which is to empower youth to give back to their community. Several service ideas were shared by students during the meeting, ranging from environmental cleanups to donation drives to help the homeless. Plans are not fully finalized yet, but everyone’s enthusiasm shows the immense potential of this new chapter.
As a student participating in this organization for the first time, I’m excited about the opportunity to take initiative to make a positive impact on my community. This meeting marked the promising beginning of this CYOC chapter, and I’m looking forward to being a part of this organization and to bringing positive change to Frederick.
