Centered on core areas such as youth empowerment, cultural exchange, community service, and leadership development, CYOC creates a profound and positive impact on the community. For its outstanding contributions to youth development, CYOC has earned broad recognition from academia and community leaders.

On the evening of December 7 at 8:00 PM, CYOC officially established its Frederick regional board, marking an exciting new step in expanding the organization’s presence and impact across Maryland. As of the first meeting a total of 24 participants attended the meeting.

The meeting opened with Advisor Chen Tao welcoming new members from the Frederick area, reviewing CYOC’s past accomplishments, and introducing the organization’s mission and goals. Participants listened attentively as Supervisor Chen highlighted CYOC’s commitment to service, leadership, and cultural connection.

Following the introduction, Frederick-area members enthusiastically presented themselves and shared ideas for strengthening CYOC’s presence in the region. Members such as James Huang proposed detailed plans for expanding programs, while others—including Ryan—expressed excitement about bringing CYOC’s volunteer opportunities to Frederick. Several participants expressed interest in recreating successful CYOC programs such as robotics and STEM camps. Parents also demonstrated strong support, emphasizing their commitment to helping CYOC grow. Additional contributors, including Allen, stressed the importance of engaging minority communities and broadening CYOC’s mission of inclusivity.

Current CYOC members warmly welcomed the new Frederick board. George Mingyi Wang, one of the youth organizers of CYOC and the “So What Else” donation drive, expressed hope that Frederick would soon host its own major donation events. Sophie Xu, the current main editor of CYOC also welcomed new members and encouraged them to join the editorial team and contribute written work to future CYOC publications.

Later on CYOC’s Advisor Ping Lu, along with General Secretary Yuxiang Xie, expressed their appreciation for the new board’s energy and ideas. Supervisor Lu expressed her confidence in the Frederick team and her excitement for the developments ahead.

The establishment meeting concluded on a high note, filled with enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose. With the newly formed Frederick board now officially launched, CYOC looks forward to a bright future guided by more passionate and dedicated young leaders.
