CYOC 2025 Annual Meeting Celebrates Youth Leadership and Community Impact

The Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC) hosted its 2025 Annual Meeting at the Potomac Community Recreation Center, bringing together youth volunteers, distinguished guests, and long-time supporters to celebrate a year of service, leadership, and community engagement. 

The event featured inspiring speeches from prominent leaders, including Minister-Counselor and Consul General Zhu Di, Maryland Secretary of State Susan Lee, Chief Administrative Law Judge Chung Pak, Maryland State Senator Clarence Lam, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, and Montgomery County Councilmember-at-large Laurie-Anne Sayles. In addition, Dave Silbert and Chris Yonushonis from So What Else. They shared their insights on youth empowerment. Their words reinforced the importance of civic engagement and youth leadership, leaving a lasting impact on CYOC’s young volunteers. Following the speeches, CYOC honored its volunteers through the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) ceremony, recognizing outstanding contributions to the community. The event also showcased member-led projects, highlighting youth-driven initiatives such as gardening, community outreach, fundraising, robotics, cultural exchange programs, and educational clubs. The annual meeting concluded with vibrant performances, including rap, classical Chinese dance, and violin music, demonstrating the diverse talents of CYOC Members. 

CYOC extended special appreciation to its sponsors and long-time partners, whose generous support plays a pivotal role in sustaining and expanding youth- led initiatives.
