AR Cup 2025 Team 8
For the past month, I have had an amazing opportunity to participate in the 2025 National Youth Airborne Robotics sponsored by the Zhejiang University Alumni Association of the Washington DC area and the Capital Youth Outreach Club. I discovered this opportunity while looking on WeChat for additional programs offered beyond those of my local HSK testing center. I’ve heard that ZJU is a highly respected global University and that many important research articles are published by its graduates. To be even the smallest part of this program, I feel will change the course of my future.
From July 27th to August 5th, I had the honor of participating in a 10-day summer camp organized by Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, ZUAA-GWDC Foundation, and Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC). Nearly 30 students, including myself, were given the incredible opportunity to explore different parts of China. We visited bustling cities like Shanghai and Hangzhou, where swarming streets were filled with vendors, tourists, and the irresistible aroma of fresh food. We also experienced the charm of smaller and more rural areas such as Xiandu and Heyang Ancient House in Jinyun City. For someone like me, who had never been to China before, this was a priceless and memorable chance to connect with the unique culture and lifestyle of my motherland.

On August 1, 2025, despite the morning drizzle and overcast skies, Anacostia Park in Washington, D.C., hosted a vibrant and joyful event — the 2025 Youth Summer Olympics. Organized by So What Else (SWE) and Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC) in collaboration with several local nonprofit partners, the event brought together over 380 summer camp participants from the Greater Washington area for a day filled with fun, sports, and meaningful connections.
For the past several months, I was participating in the English Club, helping the seniors practice English. While doing this, I was deeply inspired by how open and eager they were to learn. It showed me that growth and learning truly never stop, no matter how old you are.

This summer, as members of the Capital Youth Outreach Club (CYOC) and passionate STEM enthusiasts, my friends Evan Chen, George Wang, and I decided to give back to the community by organizing a free STEM enrichment program focused on 3D printing, electric circuits, and Arduino programming. With experience in these areas—mine in 3D design and printing, Evan’s in electronics and programming, and George’s in robotics—we felt confident that we could create a fun and educational experience for younger students. We named it the CYOC Summer Engineering Workshop, and it brought together 15 curious and creative middle schoolers for a week of hands-on learning and innovation.
